About Us

OUR ROOTS

The Potter's House Christian Fellowship is affiliated with Christian Fellowship Ministries founded by Wayman Mitchell, Senior Pastor of  The Potter's House Church of Prescott, Arizona.  Beginning in 1973, this body (originally First Foursquare Church) has mothered an entire fellowship of churches which go by various names.  These include The Door, The Potter's House, Victory Chapel, The Lighthouse, and Living Waters.  The fellowship includes more than 1,800 congregations worldwide.

OUR BEGINNINGS

In September of 1994, Pastor Lee and Sophie Williams were sent out of Grants, New Mexico to pioneer a work in Lubbock, Texas.  The church was birthed and has seen the hand of God help it since the beginning.  Our church is growing and would love for you to be a part of  it.

OUR VISION

Our Vision is simple: get souls saved, disciple couples, and launch them to pioneer a new work for Jesus.

WE  BELIEVE

*    There is only one God, and that he is eternally existent in three persons: "The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

*   God, The Father, is  the creator of the universe.  He created man in his own image for fellowship, and called man back to him through Christ after after the rebellion and fall of man.

*    Jesus Christ is eternally God.  He was together with The Father and The Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through him all things were made. He left Heaven and became incarnate by The Holy Spirit of  The Virgin Mary: henceforth, he is forever one Christ with two natures, God and man, in one person.

*    The Holy Spirit is God, The Lord and giver of life, who was active in The Old Testament, and given to The Church in fullness at Pentecost.  He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature, and conforms us to the image of Christ.

*    The baptism in The Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, subsequent to conversion, releases the fullness of  The Spirit and is evidenced by the fruits and gifts of  The Holy Spirit.

*    The Bible containing The Old and New Testaments is alone the only infallible, inspired word of God, and its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard.  The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and and practical Christian conduct.
